Fire Testing
HEBEL AAC products provide remarkable fire endurance capabilities. Extensive laboratory tests have been conducted to determine fire endurance on AAC according to international standards. Specialized companies such as Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. and Factory Mutual Research Corporation have evaluated and certified AAC product resistance capabilities under direct exposition to fire.
Testing was completed to evaluate the element's time endurance to fire exposure while conserving their structural integrity. AAC was submitted to direct fire exposure and, in some cases, to water launching tests (simulating the exercise of "putting out" a fire).
Testing has also been completed on AAC according to ASTM E119 (ANSI / UL 263) "Fire Endurance Testing of Construction Materials" measures heat and/or gas transmission of elements and capability of load bearing when exposed to direct fire.
The tests of AAC were successful and the elements complied with the requirements for collapse resistance (stability), fire penetration (integrity), and transmission of excessive heat flow.
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) has extended a fire endurance classification of up to 4 hours for Xella Mexicana HEBEL AAC, and is undergoing final testing for Xella Aircrete North America HEBEL AAC.
